We know Trump's plan for 2025

I switched parties when Donald Trump was elected because I saw the hate and rhetoric he weaponized for political power. As his ideology was picked up by Republican lawmakers and the party as a whole, I knew we were witnessing the start of a dramatic shift in our policies and cultural norms.

But I never imagined this.

A network of far-right think tanks, strategists, and lawyers led by The Heritage Foundation have given Trump a presidential transition plan to bring us closer to an authoritarian state. It’s called Project 2025.

The plan starts with Donald Trump installing 54,000+ MAGA supporters in federal offices so he can influence government agencies and enact the most extreme policies in Project 2025 – without input from Congress. He would have more power over the federal government than any president in history.

A photo of nine copies of ‘Mandate For Leadership: The Conservative Promise’ stacked up on a table.

This far-right takeover is detailed in a 920-page book titled Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise. Here are just a few of its most catastrophic policies:

  • Banning all abortion procedures and medications nationwide

  • Reversing all environmental regulations that impact corporations’ profits and rapidly expanding oil drilling here at home, effectively guaranteeing a global climate catastrophe during our lifetimes

  • Forcing adults who acknowledge LGBTQ+ people or are part of the LGBTQ+ community to register as sex offenders

  • Nationalizing all state and local police departments so they answer to the Justice Department instead of state and local officials

  • Reshaping the FBI as an extension of the Oval Office and limiting the authority of military generals to give more power to the sitting president than ever before

This is more than an extreme agenda. It’s a threat to our democracy, our society, and hundreds of millions of Americans.

I’m running against Rep. Troy Balderson, one of Trump’s many goons in the House who voted against impeaching him for trying to overturn the election. Balderson will not hesitate to support the Project 2025 agenda in Congress. But I will.

How do I know Donald Trump would follow any plan given to him by this political organization? He’s done it before.

Another (but less extreme) Mandate was published by The Heritage Foundation in 2016. Donald Trump carried out 64% of their agenda during his first term.

Project 2025 is a blueprint for a closed-door coup. Just imagine if Trump had this much control over our institutions after he lost the 2020 election. He might still be in power today.

Thank you for your support,

Jerrad Christian

Democrat Nominee for OH-12
